Well now ... at first this seems funny ... and I understand the feel of it ... been there, thought like that. Truth is, that is NOT how God wants us to pray. That is NOT how God wants us to feel about our enemies. We want to be working on being like Jesus. Would He have sung along with this? I. don't. think. so. Just sayin' ....
ReplyDeleteMy thought ... whatever that is worth: laugh at the song and quickly move on! You don't want it to stick in your spirit. No good fruit from that.
I agree. I have wanted to pray this kind of prayer for many a people but then I stop and think..."How do I want people to pray for me?"
ReplyDeleteMy flesh wants revenge but my Spirit wants to move on and forgive. Choosing forgiveness is so difficult when the flesh wants to lash out and hurt the others as they hurt you.
Boy, I hear ya' loud and clear! Forgiveness IS a choice, for sure! A WISE choice! The same choice that Jesus made on the cross!
